Brussels is an underrated city, and does have a lot to offer - museums, architecture, good food. With days I'd stay in Brussels and take a day trip to Bruges. With more like a week, I'd add Antwerp or Ghent, or if you're interested in history, consider Waterloo or the World War I batttlefields. It is indeed easy to visit Antwerp while staying in is a direct train to Antwerp central station and it only takes 20 minutes if you take the IC train from Brussels Central station.I recommend you stay close to the Grand place in Brussels or in the center of Brussels. It is walking distance to all the major attractions and easy to take the tram/metro and buses to each part of.
It does! Thanks! I do want to see Brussels as its the capital, but from what I have heard the 3 hours allotted on the tour won't be enough as the city is pretty spread out - where as with Bruges and Ghent that is plenty of time to see most of the main attractions from the outside (obviously, I am sure you could spend days at any of the cities and not see EVERYTHING).
